Air travellers consider Malév cabin staff the best among the airlines of Eastern Europe, according to the latest (2008) annual Skytrax survey of carriers. Skytrax, which is one of the most trusted independent organizations reviewing service quality in the airline industry, questioned more than 15 million passengers from 95 nations globally, asking what they thought of the services supplied by the world’s airlines.
Best Airline in Eastern Europe - 2006, 2007
In a survey of the world's best airlines, airports, hotels and cities conducted by American Global Traveler magazine, premium frequent flyers voted Malév "Best Airline in Eastern Europe" for 2007. Malév Hungarian Airlines is awarded second times by Global Traveler magazine, as Malév was named the best Airline in Eastern Europe last year by more than 10 thousand industry professionals and frequent flyer readers.
IOSA registered airline
On 3 July 2006, Malév was entered onto the IATA IOSA registered airlines list (www.iata.org/registry) following the successful conclusion of the international airline industry's benchmark safety operation audit. This means that Malév ranks among those top airlines providing IATA-recognized and certified secure and quality services.
Malév also passed the global airline industry’s benchmark operational safety audit with excellent results in April 2008. As a consequence, the auditing organization, IATA, renewed the company’s IOSA registration for a further two years.
Among the most punctual airlines in Europe
Malév aircraft flying short- and medium-haul routes had the best on-time arrival performance, the first 2008 quarterly report of the Association of European Airlines (AEA) shows.
The statistical survey summarizing traffic and baggage handling data of European airlines also revealed that Malév came third on short- and medium-haul flights in terms of punctual departures in Europe, while it is fifth on baggage delivery performance. More than 95% of the flights of Malév are within a radius of 3000 km, therefore these figures are highly representative of the airline’s overall operation.
Irish professional tribute
The Irish Travel Trade News hosted its 15th annual "best supplier" awards ceremony in Ireland on 24 January 2007. The national airline was awarded this prestigious tribute on the basis of a public opinion survey carried out by "Az Utazó" (Traveler) magazine, and it follows on from similar awards in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
